Sandwiches and wraps are phenom. I particularly enjoyed their veggie wrap w cheese and homemade italian dressing. Try their frozen shake, it's a treat. Very reasonably priced and friendly staff. Perfect sandwich or wrap for a beautiful beach day here in Delray.

My wife and I hit the amazing sandwich shop up on several occassions when we spent the weekend in Delray Beach. I recommend the New York Style. Can't beat it. Great prices and all fresh ingredients. Highly recommend.

This little gem is seconds from the beach. I really enjoyed my Tropical Wave today, I substituted the Russian Dressing with mayonnaise. This sandwich was very good. I think my sub came to around $9.50. They use boars head meats and the woman behind the counter was very pleasant. I will be back. Gotta love a place that offers service with an attitude. No seating. No restrooms $10 card min on an $8 (average price) mediocre sub. Sandwich maker couldnt even bother to be gracious and make eye contact while he proclaimed he has been in business for 34 years as if I should know his rules by heart. Delray is tourist driven. Wake up. Sandwich was good not great not sure I'd come back because of arrogant service by both male and female (really hope they aren't the owners) counter people.....

Fresh bread that is lightly crusty on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside-not spongy like chain places. Fresh veggies and thin sliced ham (thats what I had). The food is 5 stars, as is the service. There is a $10 minimum on credit cards which may be an issue if you eat alone. Also, very limited seating (its outside in a covered 3 table patio behind the place, by a garbage can, but quiet and as nice as can be). This is a take out place, really. Grab some killer sandwiches and hit the beach!

A great little shop right next door to the Marriott. The shop has a varied selection of salads and sandwiches. I was greeted by two friendly staff members who explained the menu and pointed out some favorites. I followed the recommendations and ordered the Italian and the Tidal Wave. Both sandwiches were served on the superb bread used for all of the sandwiches. Both meat and vegetable toppings were fresh and flavorful. This is not Subway. These are sandwiches that are made with a lot of attention to detail and emphasis on excellent ingredients. Kid friendly options are available, as well. Definitely recommend.

Great little place with some excellent sandwiches I had the homemade chicken salad and truly liked it. Sole enough, tasty, and reasonably priced. Seating is outside since it's a small shop that offers sandwiches to go.

Good selection and good subs! My son was being picky and they nicely made him just what he wanted. The Italian dressing is wonderful!! They said all the dressings are homemade.

Nice place to get a sandwich and so conveniently located to the beach. I got a chicken salad sandwich with lettuce and tomato. I wasn't blown away but it might have been my fault for ordering a rather unexciting sandwich. Quality seemed good, the bread was great, nothing bad to say, would absolutely try again. Small shaded courtyard in back with some fiesty looking squirrels... Potentially a spawn of Satan, clearly folks have been heavily feeding him and he now realizes that it gets better than nuts and trash. He may rip your face off if you turn him down.

This place is the best. Cute small shop with amazingly delicious sandwiches. They have the best- Boars head- and their sandwiches are never disappointing. Cute outdoor seating out back also. Love this place.

Bread is amazing and so is the price. You know the bread is fresh because they're stored in paper bags behind the counter. Crispy outside chewy inside. The small is huge already but their large size should be for two ppl. Assortment of chips and a few other sides available. VERY QUICK. which is great when you hv an hour for lunch. Tried the chicken salad. All white meat. Gently seasoned. Not the most flavorful but solid.

Had the Hot Sicilian and was great. Can't beat the price, especially for the amount of meat they load on it! Great small outdoor seating place outside.

TINY storefront just steps from the beach, but a total 'find." I had the Tidal Wave (roast beef + turkey) on a roll and my wife had the veggie wrap...then we went back the next day and had 'em again, which pretty much says it all. Meats were super fresh tasting (not all jacked up with salt and nitrates like that Boar's Head crap). Bread was ultra-fresh too, and soft. I'm used to a harder roll up here in NY, but this roll was great and more than supported the sandwich contents. Really good sammies here!

Awesome hoagies and sandwiches! Best priced shop in town & they are fast!!! Perfect pick up for the beach...so happy I found this place.

Spending a day at the beach with some family, we stumbled across this tiny whole in the wall. It was awesome! I have probably walked by this place 20 times and never even knew there was a restaurant there. The hoagies were awesome! I got a turkey on wheat- great toppings, sprouts, carrots, cucumbers to name a few. No place to sit inside- so grab some beach chairs and chow down!

Have been going here for 8 years ( holy crap time flies!) I used to work on the ave and this place has been a favorite ever since. My fav is the roast beef hoagie with everything! Gotta get that vinaigrette! This is a small (smalllll) place that can fit maybe 3 people in line at once. Get a sandwich to go as you walk to the beach.

Loved this place!! We ate here for lunch every day on our vacation. Great Boar's head sandwiches and great salads (chef was our favorite)! Also, their milkshakes are very refreshing on a nice hot day. We got the strawberry/vanilla yogurt with the banana and pineapple juice-very tasty.

The bread for the subs are so good and taste so fresh! Especially the whole wheat. Tropical wind with a touch of mustard is the best!

Love grabbing a sandwich from here and having a picnic on the beach

Great sandwiches. The guy that made my last one (who I think owns the business) was moving as if he was mechanical sandwich maker, it took him 20 seconds. - I like the "Tropical Wind". I ask them to add sprouts and spinach. Another good sandwich is the "Tidal Wave" Great chips selection. I really like the mayonnaise they use too.

The best sandwiches on the beach! They're huge, so if you're like my sister and I, you can share a sandwich and be just fine. They're fast, friendly, and a block away from the ocean. What could be better?

Cute location! Friendly service and excellent sandwiches! We had the Italian sub, strongly recommend it. Worth stopping by if in area, very close to the beach.

Best subs in downtown Delray and blocks from the ocean. A mandatory stop if heading to the beach in Delray. I have been going here for over 10 years and always happy. The Italian sub is tangy and delicious for salty beach day.

Found a brochure for this place at the Putt Putt course. Anyplace using Boars Head meats is fine in my book. So, it's the bread that usually separates the places apart and the 10 inch turkey sub I ordered (with Russian) was on a fresh crunchy sub roll which made all the difference. Dad grabbed a Turkey wrap with all the veggies and was raving about the food between bites. Full selection of Dr. Brown's soda's was key as Cream soda and a sandwich go great together. I haven't been coming here since birth, but If i did grow up here, most likely I would have. And the woman who made the sandwich was fast, real fast. Solid grub in a tiny setting.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I've been coming here for years! The bread is crunchy and soft on the inside, and meat is great quality, and the prices are good. They never skimp on the meat, which a lot of places do. Every time I'm down by the beach this is where I go!

I think the first time I had a sandwich from here was back in 97... and since that time, I always get a sandwich from here when I am in town. It's a tiny take out shop that has great food. Try it , you will love it.

I was here 18 months ago before heading to the beach and loved the chicken salad and tuna hoagies. Things haven't changed...they are still excellent!

If I ever stop laughing about the review below me, I might be able to write one myself.... Sandwiches by the Sea has been cramping in beach goers for at least 20 years. My mom has dragged my sisters off of that beach since the early 80's to get sandwiches. Subs: A Pitas: A Yogurt Shakes: AAAA (Don't miss this) When I was 6-8 I loved their Italian Sub.... When I was 12 I was a vegetarian and love the Veggie Pita.... Now that I am 25, I switch up between a Turkey Sub and a Tuna Pita I ALWAYS get a shake, a bottle of water, and a side of fresh fruit. *NOTE* When we say small... we mean small. NO TABLES. NO SEATING. There is a 3 person bench out front if you are a lucky party of 1-3. Just grab your sandwich and head the the boardwalk/shaded area. When Atlantic dead ends (2 blocks away) into A1A (Beach) there is a huge public seating area with tons of covered benches with a beachfront view. (If you are coming from the beach, just head down Atlantic for a few blocks and it will be on the South side of the street). Small store front snuggled in between two stores.

I've been coming here since my friends and I got dropped at the beach by our parents as teenagers back in the late 90s. I always get the chx salad with muenster, tomatoes, and spouts. It's heaven. The only downer is that you need to have cash but there's a B of A about two blocks west. There are a couple of picnic tables behind, walk between Lilly P and the sunglass place. Always a favorite of mine when I need a quick sandwich!

I've been going to Sandwiches by the Sea on Palm Beach island for years. Now that I live in Delray surely I would be in for the same great experience. After more than three visits to the Delray store, unfortunately that is not the case. There are usually the same two guys working this less than spacious ordering area. The staff here makes you feel like you just walked into the shop that you're not cool enough to be in; in other words, very unwelcoming. All that aside, getting to what's important, the sandwich. Great menu of signature sandwiches, which have always been very close to good. The one major shortfall of the store all four times that I have been there is the bread. Not so much that its stale or not quality, but the cool guys there do not store it properly. The bread has a consistant old, dusty, musty poorly kept flavor ruining any sandwich on the menu. At almost $10 a sandwich, yo're officially off my list. From now on, I'll bring my own sandwich to the sea.

My 10 cousins and I pile into Sandwiches by the Sea, all wearing stupid matching t-shirts that my mom designed for our family reunion. Let me preface that we all look absolutely nothing alike. We range from 5'0" to 6'6", bright blonde curly hair to nearly black and stick straight, pale porcelain never-seen-the-sun skin to supremely tanned. I can understand the confusion we may have caused, but I still will never figure out what prompted the lady selling us sandwiches to inquire if we were with the traveling circus group that had come in to town. And trust me, she said it with all seriousness. After the weirdness wore off, we ordered our sandwiches and were quite pleased.

This place is a must stop if you are hungry on the way to or from the beach. The location is prime, the pitas are delicious. My friends devour their smoothies and they also sell fresh cut fruit as well as a vegetarian pasta salad. Beware its a tiny place almost like a Seinfeld episode but worth it!!!
